The Computer Service Consultancy Unit was established under the
Department of Computer Science in 1988.
Its main function is to provide the industrial
sector and the academic community with consulting services such as
expert advice, system analysis, feasibility studies, simulation,
and customized training programmes. The unit is fully supported by
the staff of the department whose areas of specialization and
industrial experience cover the main branches of computer science
and engineering, including FPGA, embedded systems, VLSI CAD, artificial
intelligence, image and speech processing, numerical analysis,
real-world software applications, Chinese processing, computer
education, system software, computer graphics, multimedia applications,
Internet and WWW
applications, and computer security and protection.
